Through this Centre, the Council aimed to be able to better deliver all its services, whilst having the physical capacity to deliver services effictiently as in the private sector. The Local Council is responsible for the domestic collection of refuse from all households in the locality. This door-to-door collection is done on a basis of six-days a week, including public holidays.
Bulky refuse is collected twice a week, that is, on Wednesday and Friday. Bulky Refuse consists of general bulky waste from private households such as fridges, sofas etc. One may book this service by clicking here or by calling at the office on 21 334 343.
The Local Council is responsible for the sweeping and cleansing of roads and pavements within its locality, both in the urban and in non-urban areas. Most areas in the locality are swept twice a week, with other areas being swept three times a week depending on the necessities and special circumstances of an area. For in...
The Local Council is responsible for infrastructural works and projects, such as the maintenance of already existing pavements and roads. Maintenance of roads includes resurfacing and asphalting but does not include the construction of new roads. This falls under the responsibility of ADT.
The Local Council is responsible for the maintenance of street lighting, specifically, those street lanterns which are affixed with brackets on walls. Street lighting on poles are the responsibility of Enemalta Corporation.
