Resurfacing St. Venera Alley

The Msida Local Council has started resurfacing works at St. Venera Alley.

Works include:

1) Laying of new Water Main

2) Resurfacing of the Alley with steel mesh and concrete

Resurfacing of Triq il-Bacir Completed

Resurfacing works at Triq il-Bacir have been completed earlier this afternoon.

Works have included:

1) The laying of a new Water main and house connections

2) New Pavements

3) Scarifying, levelling and asphalting the whole street with two layers of hot rolled asphalt.

Fl-Imsida bħalissa għaddejjin xogħlijiet estensivi fuq Triq il-Baċir fejn se jitqiegħed main ġdid tal-ilma u se jsir resurfacing tat-triq.   F’din it-triq ġa sar xogħol fuq il-bankini li ġie finanzjat mill- Urban Improvement Fund li għen biex il-Kunsill Lokali tal-Imsida wettaq ukoll xogħlijiet fuq żewġ sqaqien filwaqt li permezz ta’ fondi oħra għamel xogħol estensiv ta’ embellishment tat-toroq.   Aktar tard din is-sena l-Kunsill se jniedi wkoll proġett ta’ maniġġjar tat-traffiku u post għall-parkeġġ.

Waqt żjara li għamel fuq ix-xogħlijiet, is-Segretarju Parlamentari responsabbli mill-Kunsilli Lokali Chris Said, qal li l-Gvern qed jgħin lill-kunsilli lokali biex iwettqu xogħlijiet fuq it-toroq mhux biss permezz ta’ żieda fl-allokazzjoni diretta, iżda wkoll permezz ta’ tibdil fil-liġi fejn issa l-kunsilli lokali jistgħu jidħlu f’public private partnership ma’ kuntratturi privati u permezz ta’ dan jibbenefikaw minn żieda fl-alloka...

Official Opening of Msida ICT Centre & Library

The Msida Local Council, in the presence of the Hon. Dr. Chris Said, has yesterday officially opened its ICT Learning Centre and a new Local Library. Both are situated within the Civic Centre itself.

Through a partnership with local company TCTC Ltd., the Msida community now can enjoy a brand new ICT learning centre offering free courses for children and adults all year round. Courses range from basic computer skills to ECDL courses, since the Msida ICT Centre has also been officially accredited by this international institution.

The Council also inaugurated its local library, which now hosts over 5000 books. For now, the library will be open every Saturday, all day from 8am till 5pm. Plans are that this library will also bu open another day during the week.
